The 40% Rule which is popularized by David Goggins and other endurance athletes.
Described perfectly by Jesse Itzler in "Living With Seal" - a book I highly reccomend reading. Itzler says:
The 40% rule is simple: When your mind is telling you that you’re done, that you’re exhausted, that you cannot possibly go any further, you’re only actually 40% done.
When you think you can no longer do anymore, when you think you have hit your limit, you're firing on all cylinders, you are pushing yourself 110% you are infact at the moment only doing what you are 40% capable to doing.
This is a good mental trick reminder when you are on a long run, or studying for hours for that exam, or attempting complete a tedious task or project. When you think you are ready to quit you are only operating at 40% of your full potential. Learn to tap the other 60%.
