Checklists are how I operate on a daily basis. I have daily and nightly checklists with things I want to remember to do as part of an ongoing routine.
Personally, I find great satisfaction in being able to check off items and complete the task.
However, I use a uniquely different process for my checklist than most. I do not use a pen and paper I do not write down a physical list I do everything digital.
I also do not use a checklist program. While these are fine and generally work I find them being giant lists that just get bigger and bigger.
The hack the trick the secret is to use your calendar. I put my daily checklist onto my calendar. I log them as calendar invites and mark them as all day so they appear in a list form at the top of my day.
I do this for a few reasons. First, it’s simple and I have the application on my desktop and phone so my list is always with me and easy to use.
Second and this is the key I can log what I need to do on the day I need to do it.
This is important because if the list is too big I have a visual of how many tasks need to be completed on any one given day and I can do an honest assessment. I can ask myself is this realistic? If the answer is no then I can easily move tasks to other days. Prioritize my efforts.
