We convince ourselves that the new big house or the fancy job title or the big raise is a ladder.
A stepping stone to the life we wanted and expected.
Even deserved.
As you get older you realize these things are traps. They are not ladders. They are prisons.
I am not saying you should not want nice things or pursue lofty goals. Quite the opposite. You should strive for these things.
But, ONLY striving for these things are not ladders to climb to a better life they are prisons that lock us in the perpetual wheel of more-ism.
